Great day yesterday..Made about 57 miles from our anchorage near Bell Point in Currituck Sound, past Coinjock, NC into the legendary potential rough waters of the Albemarle Sound. Jeanne and I decided to make up some time and  bypass the Albemarle Loop until next Spring so we might spend more time at the charming host towns.  Also, maybe the infamous "duck weed" will not be proliferating the historic Dismal Swamp Canal in late April or early May.(SIGMACHI has NO internal raw water intake filters and there no room to conveniently plumb them in.) The A-P Canal is a long straight water passageway leading southward toward our destination today.  We'll take the Tyler's recommendation and tie up at the city's downtown dock....two blocks is about our walking distance...Bikes? Yes, we have folding JUPITER electric bikes...BUT, it came as a surprise to me when the bikes were delivered to us that I'd lost my balance on bikes since/do to my spine surgery last March!  Aga...

Jeanne and I anchored Sigmachi at Bell Pt. in Currituck Sound... about 70' of anchor rode in about 10' of water..55# Mantus  anchor deployed. Just SW of where the Knotts Island/Currituck ferry crosses Currituck Sound, North Carolina. Wind tonight supposed to be 5 MPH...we are in the lee of the mainland on the West. We left late from Chesapeake because of fog. Will proceed past Coinjock, NCand cross Albemarle Sound tomorrow for Alligator River. Wind supposed to be light in morning out of the N. E. Filled fuel tanksat Atlantic Yacht Basis this morning with 89 gal of diesel.  We loaded up at Olverson's Lodge Creek Marina  when we started the trip on the Yeocomico River off of the Potomac River ...Northern Neck of VA.  I think that's pretty good for JT 671Ns diesels going at an average of 7.6 mph. While staying at Atlantic Yacht Basin I h...

Good, Morning from SIGMACHI! WE ARE ANCHORED IN A SNUG BEND IN COCKRELL CREEK, REEDVILLE, VA. This AM Smith Point Sea Rescue towed a boat in here.  Very foggy and the smooth seas are about to pick up dramatically  It would be about 25 miles to Jackson Creek on the South side of Deltaville for our comfortable passage...if there were no fog.  Winds are forecast to really pick up around 2 pm. SO, We are here to stay...maybe til Friday or Saturday. By the Way...this dark sky.net ..I like it to supplement the official NOAA forecast. Tight Lines And Merry Christmas!
