From Alan...SIGMACHI--Views from the Crew...Sunday Morning 19.12.29

Great day yesterday..Made about 57 miles from our anchorage near Bell Point in Currituck Sound, past Coinjock, NC into the legendary potential rough waters of the Albemarle Sound.

Jeanne and I decided to make up some time and  bypass the Albemarle Loop until next Spring so we might spend more time at the charming host towns.  Also, maybe the infamous "duck weed" will not be proliferating the historic Dismal Swamp Canal in late April or early May.(SIGMACHI has NO internal raw water intake filters and there no room to conveniently plumb them in.)

The A-P Canal is a long straight water passageway leading southward toward our destination today.  We'll take the Tyler's recommendation and tie up at the city's downtown dock....two blocks is about our walking distance...Bikes?

Yes, we have folding JUPITER electric bikes...BUT, it came as a surprise to me when the bikes were delivered to us that I'd lost my balance on bikes since/do to my spine surgery last March!  Again Harbor Hosts Rip & Beth Tyler assured me that there is plenty of flat ground at their place for me to practice on my JUPITER!

Just passed green Navigational markee it is 2r 59AR in the A-P Canal on a Westerly compass course...the Wilkerson Bridge is insight...looks like it is 2 miles ahead.

OK for now...we are excited about being in Bellhaven this afternoon!

Tight Lines and Happy New Year!

[Now that Jeanne and I are really cruising we will be posting Views From The Crew more frequently...so please subscribe.]
